Signed Copies On January 6th, 2018 Nick Butter set off on a journey to do something no one had ever done before: to run a marathon in every country on the planet and set a new world record in the process. What followed was 674 days on the road. 3 new marathons in 3 new countries every single week for nearly one 100 weeks. This was a journey of logistics, fatigue, endurance and curiosity. Naturally, Nick carried a camera. Skylines of epic cities and mountain ranges, communities, smiling faces, and endless pockets of cultures, religions, and ways of life around the world. From tropical islands, epic views, back streets, market places and the simple realities of how others live. Nick witnessed extraordinary wildlife, unexpected kindness, and cultures that reshaped his world view. This journey changed his life. Nick left behind a comfortable career in finance to chase a dream, and somewhere along the road, running became his life. Today, Nick holds eleven world records and is soon to reach a staggering milestone of 100,000 miles running in his life. Having achieved this mammoth feat, Nick wrote Running the World, his written account of the adventure, published by Penguin, which quickly became a bestseller. This photobook, is the visual companion. This book took 6 years to make. Nick spent time between running challenges sifting through nearly half a million photos, slowly narrowing them down to the images that meant the most. The result is this beautiful large-format book: Nearly 500 pages, weighing more than 3 kilos per book, it's filled with images, anecdotes, and stories from every corner of the planet. This book has been a labour of love for Nick. Every word, photo, and even the design and layout of the book has been put together by Nick.
